A veteran player who has witnessed many battles, Popovic just won his first continental trophy in Treviso with Unics, even though he had his fair share of successes with several of the teams he has played with, including an Adriatic League with Zadar in 2003 or also Croatian, Turkish and Lithuanian national titles. Now he can claim a new accolade to his collection: MVP of the Eurocup Finals 2011.

Unics guard Marko Popovic, Eurocup Finals MVP

"It's great. It's been now three years since I played my last Euroleague game, and I have really enjoyed being part of this team. The Eurocup once again proved to be a high-level competition, and it's a joy to be a part of this basketball family. First of all, I am proud of myself and my teammates for what we did. This is a huge thing for us and for our club. We don't want to stop here. We know how good we are. That's what we proved in the last two games. We ran out of energy at the end, but we are champions, and that's a great feeling. I became a father not too long ago. That was the best feeling of my life, but this is probably the second best."
