Pamesa Valencia
There is no doubt about when exactly Spain's third-largest city, Valencia, reached its basketball peak. The big moment came in 2003, when Pamesa Valencia was crowned the very first ULEB Cup champion. It was quite a feat for a club that was founded rather recently, in 1986. Pamesa reached the Spanish League first division quickly, debuting in 1988, but after several years of holding steady in the middle of the table, was relegated in 1995 to the second division.

THE HEAD COACH: FOTIS KATSIKARIS
At age 40, Fotis Katsikaris is making a name for himself as one of the best young coaches in European basketball. A little-known playmaker in the 1990s, Katsikaris played for Greek teams like Sporting, Ionikos, AEK and Iraklio before retiring in 1998 to join AEK's coaching staff. Katsikaris was AEK's assistant coach for five full seasons, learning from some of the best bosses in European basketball, such as Dusan Ivkovic and Dragan Sakota.

THE STAR: RUBEN DOUGLAS
A sharpshooter of unlimited range and competitiveness, Ruben Douglas arrives to Turin with pairs on his mind. He hopes to make Pamesa the first two-time ULEB Cup winner, lift the trophy a second time himself and, should his team need it, become the first player chosen title-game MVP twice. Douglas started his professional career in Panionios of Greece, one of the teams Pamesa defeated to reach the Final Eight. His next stop was Climamio Bologna, for whom Douglas delivered a buzzer-beater in the finals to win the Italian League trophy.
