Ruben Douglas - Pamesa Valencia
|
Week 2 of the Eurocup saw a number of twists and turns in the group standings as all teams are still trying to mount charges towards the Last 16. A third of the way through the regular season, only four teams can boast sole possession of first place in their groups. In two of the other groups, there are two undefeated teams that will square off next week in crucial matchups, while two more groups feature four teams all tied up at 1-1. Eight teams can boast perfect records after Week 2. In Group B, two teams from Russia,
Dynamo Moscow and
Unics Kazan, remain undefeated ahead of a head-to-head duel next week. In Group D,
Turk Telekom and
Aris BSA 2003 both won and will face off next week with first place on the line.
Benetton Basket improved to 2-0 to lead Group C, while
Besiktas Cola Turka picked up its first win on the road.
Spirou Charleroi sits atop Group F and the team it beat last week,
Red Star, also won.
Pamesa Valencia established itself as the team to beat in Group G with a big road win at Fortitudo sparked by a former hero for the losers, Ruben Douglas. And
BC FMP earned its first win.
iurbentia Bilbao was a road winner to get to 2-0 in Group H, where
Hemofarm Stada won its first game. Meanwhile in Groups A and E, victories for
Maroussi Costa Coffee,
ASK Riga,
Asvel Basket and
Kalise Gran Canaria – all at home – kept those races as close as could be. Check out the best of the
Week 2 photos and get ready for all 32 Eurocup teams to battle again next week...
