“I would like to congratulate Gran Canaria for their deserved win. They beat us in the open field and with their offensive rebounding. We played only 40 minutes and I think we still have a chance. My players fought hard, but it just wasn’t enough. We still have some players returning from injuries that aren’t in right shape, but we hope we can win at Gran Canaria’s home court.”
GARCIA RENESES, AITO
Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas
“I am happy because we played a very good game both on offense and defense, but just like Brad [Newley] said, this was just a first half. I think Cedevita is a very good team and they created us a lot of problems, sometimes with the play of Bilan and Barac in the paint, and sometimes with their outside players. They have some players that play very well one on one and there is never just one key to getting a win against that kind of team.”

Players

PILEPIC, FRAN

“I think we can play better than we played tonight. We still have a chance, but we must play our best. It won’t be easy to win by at least nine points at Gran Canaria. We will need to play much better than today. It is our own fault we lost by eight points, but we have already shown this season that we play well in guests so our hope is still alive.”
NEWLEY, BRAD
Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas
“Today was just the first half. It is important to stay focused and we must prepare ourselves for the next game. This win gives us an advantage, but we must be ready for Wednesday. We are happy with the result, but we are not completely satisfied because we have one more game to play.”
