The Take

Three first-time matchups are on slate Wednesday in Group A, in which four teams enter Round 4 tied for first place. Telekom Baskets Bonn (2-1) hosts newcomer Dolomiti Energia Trento (2-1), which seeks its first ever road win after taking care of its home court the past two weeks. Bonn is 1-1 on its home court this season. Another German club looks for its first win as EWE Baskets Oldenburg (0-3) welcomes JSF Nanterre (2-1). The visitors have the league's second-best defense, allowing just 71.7 points per night, while Oldenburg struggles offensively with a Eurocup-low 68.7 scoring average. In another first, Dominion Bilbao Basket (2-1) plays host to Union Olimpija Ljubljana (1-2). The hosts force 20 turnovers per game, the most in the competition, and block 4 shots per game. Interestingly, Olimpija players have yet to block any shots at all this season.

Quotes Head Coaches

FISCHER, MATHIAS
Telekom Baskets Bonn
"In Eurocup competition every game is a tough and challenging task. Facing a strong Trento team we have to bring nothing less than our best to the table. If we want to make a huge step towards advancing to the next stage it is necessary to defend our home floor. By sharing minutes amongst our players we hope to establish ongoing pressure on both ends of the floor for as many as 40 minutes."

Players

MANGOLD, ANDREJ
Telekom Baskets Bonn
"Trento has shown that they are able to make some noise – on the national and international stage. This is a team that was able to contain both Nanterre’s and Milano’s offense to come up with the win. We have to be ready to run our plays with a lot of patience. On the other hand this is our building, and with our great fans backing us up we have to set the tone early in order to establish a good rhythm."

Head Coaches

FISCHER, MATHIAS
Telekom Baskets Bonn
"For almost the entire first half we were not ready to match Trento’s intensity. Allowing them 50 points before halftime is way more than we wanted. After the game was tied at 78-78, we had the chance to gain more momentum, but horrible turnovers led to easy baskets for Trento. They grabbed a few key offensive rebounds as well and were able to convert them right away. That hurt us down the stretch."
BUSCAGLIA, MAURIZIO
Dolomiti Energia Trento
"After losing to Avellino on Sunday, we wanted our troops to react the right way: defend well and spread the floor on offense. I’m very happy both parts turned out for us today. For us it was important to share minutes among our players and be able to concentrate on one decisive action after another."

Players

KLIMAVICIUS, TADAS
Telekom Baskets Bonn
"We lost against a very good team. Our defense was bad and Trento found ways to punish us for that. Many turnovers we suffered were strange because they came in situations we normally control."
LOCKETT, TRENT
Dolomiti Energia Trento
"This was a big win for us against a strong Bonn team. After our early lead, we stayed together when Bonn made their run in the second half, which we knew good teams will do. We stuck to our strengths and had the right momentum going to secure the victory."
