Gran Canaria 2014 tabs Michael Bramos
Gran Canaria 2014 keeps getting ready for the Eurocup Qualifying Round by inking shooting guard Michael Bramos to a two-year deal, the club announced Wednesday. Bramos (196, 23) arrives from Peristeri BC, where he averaged 8.9 points on 45.7% three-pointers and 2.2 rebounds in 26 Greek League games last season. Peristeri was Bramos' first stop in his professional career, as he finished his four-career college career at Miami University, Ohio (NCAA) in spring 2009. Bramos averaged 17.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 30 NCAA games in the 2008-09 season, in which he was chosen the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Year. He helped the Redhawks to win the MAC Conference title in 2007. "We have been following this player since I saw him at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament last season," Gran Canaria general director Himar Ojeda said. "He was a scorer in his college years but we believe that he can help us in both ends of the floor, as he can also offer defense, intensity and team-oriented work. We hope he can keep developing as a player, as he is still young."
