Belgacom Liege Basket tabs Nik Raivio
Nik RaivioBelgacom Liege Basket got stronger to face the Eurocup Qualifying Round by inking guard Nik Raivio to a one-year deal, the club announced Wednesday. Raivio (193, 24) arrives from the University of Portland, where he just finished his college career. He averaged 14.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 17 NCAA games last season, in which he was chosen to the All-West Coast Conference (WCC) first team. He helped the Pilots to make it to the WCC semifinals in each of the last two seasons. Born in Antwerp, Belgium, Nik's older brother Derek also plays professional basketball and took part in the 2007-08 ULEB Cup with the Koeln 99ers.
