Gran Canaria 2014 lands CJ Wallace
CJ Wallace - Benetton BasketGran Canaria 2014 improved its frontcourt for its upcoming two-way Eurocup Qualifying Round against KK Zagreb by inking power forward CJ Wallace to a one-year deal, the club confirmed Friday. Wallace (205, 27) arrives from Benetton Basket, where he averaged 9.6 points and 5.7 rebounds in 11 Eurocup games last season. He helped Benetton to reach the Italian League semifinals and the Eurocup Final Eight in 2009. Wallace has also played for Capo d'Orlando in Italy and Eisbaeren Bremenhaven in Germany since finishing his college career at Princeton University (NCAA). He was the 2007-08 Italian League's best rebounder (10.4 rpg.) and helped Princeton to win the Ivy League in 2004. Wallace now has the chance to play his third consecutive Eurocup season if Gran Canaria downs Zagreb in the qualifying round.
