GRAN CANARIA extends Melvin Sanders
Melvin Sanders - UnicajaGran Canaria has announced that scoring ace Melvin Sanders extended his contract for an additional season. Sanders (196, 28) averaged 14.5 points on 65.4% two-point shooting and 3 rebounds in six Eurocup games with Gran Canaria last season. He helped Gran Canaria make it to the Spanish King's Cup final eight and the Spanish League playoffs. Sanders has also played for Unicaja in Spain, Panellinios in Greece, Pau-Orthez in France, San Antonio in the NBA, Fayetteville in the NBDL, Dakota in the CBA, Oostende in Belgium and Varese in Italy. "I am happy because both parts had the will to close the deal from the very beginning," Gran Canaria sports director Himar Ojeda said. "Melvin played really well this season and we believe that he will help us even more next year."
