GALATASARAY signs Caner Topaloglu
Galatasaray Cafe Crown stays as one of the most active Eurocup teams in the off-season market. On Monday, Galatasaray announced the arrival of small forward Caner Topaloglu, who inked a one-year deal with his new club. Topaloglu (199, 24) is the fifth new player to join Galatasaray this summer after center Eren Beyaz, guards Darius Washington and Can Akin, youngster Evren Buker and experienced power forward Rado Rancik. Topaloglu arrives from Banvit Basketbol Kulubu, the club he played for in each of the last three seasons. He averaged 4.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 29 Turkish League games last season. Topaloglu has also played for Buyuk Kolej Ankara, Ulker and Yesilyurt Istanbul in his native Turkey throughout his career. He helped Banvit to make it to the 2007 Turkish Cup final. Topaloglu has also been a member of the Turkish under-16, under-18 and under-21 national teams. He is now to make his Eurocup debut with Galatasaray in the upcoming 2009-10 season.
