GALATASARAY tabs shooter Simas Jasaitis
Simas Jasaitis joins GalatasarayGalatasaray Café Crown shored up its perimeter attack with the signing of sharpshooter Simas Jasaitis, the club announced Thursday. Jasaitis (202, 27) arrives from Spanish side DKV Joventut, where he averaged 9.3 points in 10 Euroleague games last season. In signing for Galatasaray, Jasaitis marks his return to the Eurocup for the first time since lifting the ULEB Cup in 2005 with Lietuvos Rytas. He has also played for Tau Ceramica in Spain, Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel and Sakalai in his native Lithuania. Jasaitis won the Spanish Supercup and Spanish League and reached the 2008 Euroleague Final Four with Tau. He won the Israeli League title with Maccabi in 2007 and also won two Lithuanian League titles in 2002 and 2006, as well as the 2006 Baltic League, the 2002 NEBL and the aforementioned 2005 ULEB Cup.
