SLUC NANCY bulks up with Marcus Slaughter
Marcus SlaughterSLUC Nancy solidified its frontcourt over the weekend by signing power forward Marcus Slaughter, who led the French League in rebounding last season. Slaughter (203, 24) and Nancy agreed on a one-year deal with a team option for a second season. He averaged 9.5 rebounds in 20 games last year for Le Havre, which he joined midway through the season from German side Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. Slaughter also posted 12.2 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in the Eurocup last season, finishing the regular season tied for the most blocked shots and second in rebounding. The athletic big man has also played in Israel with Hapoel Jerusalem, in France with Gravelines Dunkerque and in Turkey for Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir after a promising college basketball career at San Diego State University. Slaughter will team with Akin Akingbala to give Nancy one of the more imposing frontcourts in the French League and Eurocup.
