DKV JOVENTUT secures Mario Fernandez
Mario Fernandez - Kalise Gran CanariaThe transfer of guard Mario Fernandez from Gran Canaria to DKV Joventut Badalona became official on Wednesday at midnight. Gran Canaria had 10 days under Spanish League rules to match the offer made to Fernandez (192, 25) by Joventut and when it failed to do so, the player’s move to Badalona was finalized. Fernandez made his debut in the Spanish League during the 2006-07 season and already that year made an impact and was invited to train with the Spanish national team. Last season he averaged 4 points, 1.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.7 steals in six Eurocup games and 3.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 32 Spanish League games.
