SLUC NANCY lands Dickens, waives Wilson
Kaniel Dickens, to SLUC NancyAs informed by the club on its official website, SLUC Nancy of France announced the addition of forward Kaniel Dickens (31, 203), arriving from Cimberio Varese of the Italian second division. There, he averaged 13.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in over 24 minutes per game, leading the team to the first spot of the standings. Dickens played college ball with the Idaho Vandals and after that he was drafted by the Utah Jazz in 2000. However, he soon would cross the pond to join Ural Great of Russia for the 2000-01 season. After that stint, he returned to the United States and played with the Portland Trail Blazers and also with the New Jersey Nets for short periods of time. He started the 2007-08 in the NBDL with the Colorado 14ers averaging 20.4 points per game, and in February-March of 2008 he signed a couple of 10-day contracts with the Cleveland Cavaliers before being declared a free agent again. In August 2008 he signed with Napoli of the Italian League but he was waived in September prior to joining Varese.

At the same time, Nancy confirmed that Lamayne Wilson will no longer play with the team. Last season, Wilson played 9 Euroleague games with the French team averaging 12.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per night.
