ALBA: Golemac replaces Bajramovic

Alba Berlin shook up its frontcourt on Wednesday when it released big man Kenan Bajramovic and replaced him with Jurica Golemac. Bajramovic joined Berlin over the summer and averaged 3.8 points and 3.8 rebounds off the bench in four Eurocup games and 6.7 points and 3.7 boards in 11 German League appearances. Golemac (209, 32) arrives from Panathinaikos, with whom he signed a temporary contract earlier this season to help the Euroleague champs through a spell of injuries. He recorded 1.8 points over five Euroleague games with the Greens. Golemac returns to the Eurocup after averaging 8.4 points and 2.5 rebounds over 21 minutes in eight Eurocup games last season for Greek side Panellinios. He began his career at KK Zrinjevac Zagreb in Croatia and has also played for Olimpija and KD Slovan in Slovenia, Efes Pilsen in Turkey, Cibona in Croatia, Ural Great Perm in Russia, Hapoel Jerusalem in Israel, Paris Levallois in France and Panellinios in Greece. Among his career highlights are winning national championships in Slovenia and Turkey, as well as cups in Slovenia and Israel. Golemac has also won the Adriatic League with Olimpija and the 2006 FIBA EuroCup Challenge with Ural Great. Last summer Golemac represented the Slovenian national team at EuroBasket 2009 in Poland.
