OLDENBURG inks Lou Campbell
Louis CampbellEWE Baskets Oldenburg announced the arrival of combo guard Louis Campbell, who inked a two-year deal with the German powerhouse on Thursday. Campbell (190, 31) replaces Je'Kel Foster, who did not reach an agreement with Oldenburg to extend his contract. Campbell arrives from Eisbaeren Bremerhaven, where he averaged 13 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.7 assists in 43 German League games this season. He boosted his numbers up to 16.2 points in 10 playoffs games, helping Bremenhaven to make it to the semifinals and be one win away from reaching the title series. Campbell has also played for Toyota Alvark in Japan, Ciudad de Huelva in Spain, as well as for Paderborn and Giessen 46ers in Germany. He helped Alvark to win the Japanese League in 2007 and reach the final in 2008. "Lou Campbell has had remarkable achievements not only in Bremenhaven but previously in his career. He is a very well-coached player in offense and defense who always keeps an eye on his teammates," Oldenburg general manager Hermann Schueller said. "We are very happy that we managed to sign him for two years."
