BG GOETTINGEN tabs Barnette, Meacham
Trenton MeachamBG Goettingen came through Monday with two more signings, announcing Sean Barnette and Trenton Meacham to respective one-year deals. Barnette (196, 24) arrives from Rio Grande, where he averaged 2.6 points in five D-League games last season. He had started the 2009-10 season with Iowa, but joined Rio Grande in March. Barnette has also played for Saint Vallier Basket Drome in the French second division, where he averaged 16.1 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals in 25 games back in 2008-09.

Meacham (188, 24) averaged 13.5 points and 2 assists in six EuroChallenge games with Austrian side WBC Kraftwerk Wels last season. Wels was the first stop as a pro after a four-year college basketball career at the University of Illinois.

"Trent is a great defender and a sharp shooter who can play at both guards. He has proven at Illinois and in the EuroChallenge that he has what it takes to be successful at a higher level. I am sure he will be able to be a leader in our team," head coach John Patrick said. "Sean is extremely versatile, plays hard, dives for every ball. His size and long arms make him a strong defender. He is also a strong rebounder that handles the ball well. He can play at the '2', '3' and '4' positions."
