CAJASOL lands Davis at center
Paul DavisCajasol signed center Paul Davis to a one-year deal, the club announced Friday. Cajasol also has an option to extend the contract until the end of the 2011-12 season. Davis (211, 25) arrives from Xacobeo Blu:sens, where he averaged 13.2 points and 7.7 rebounds in six Spanish League games last season. He started the 2009-10 season with Washington in the NBA and also played for Maine in the NBDL before joining Xacobeo in April. He has also played for Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA after a successful four-year college basketball career at Michigan State University. Davis helped the Spartans make it to the NCAA Tournament final four in 2005. He was also a member of the United States national team that took part in the 2003 World under-18 Championships.

"He is a big player, with great wingspan that adjusted well to European basketball. He showed he is a very interesting player despite playing a short period of time in Santiago de Compostela. The references we have from him make us think he can fit well in our team," Cajasol sports director Juan Llaneza said. "We must find balance in all positions, as we will play two competitions next season. We have players with a variety of skills that can help us in different ways."
