SIAULIAI locks up Edvinas Ruzgas
Edvinas RuzgasSiauliai improved its backcourt for the upcoming Eurocup season by inking shooting guard Edvinas Ruzgas to a long-term contract. Ruzgas (198, 23) just finished his college career at Texas Christian University, where he played in the last two seasons. He averaged 10.7 points on 42.4% three-pointers and 2.8 rebounds in 32 NCAA games last season. Ruzgas was a member of the Sarunas Marciulionis basketball school but opted to go overseas to earn a college degree. He joined Weatherford Junior College in summer 2006 before playing for TCU. Ruzgas has also been a member of the Lithuanian under-18 and under-20 national teams. "I am looking forward to the challenge. Several Lithuanian teams showed interest but Siauliai was the best proposal. I really enjoyed what I saw in Siauliai, as it has excellent working conditions," Ruzgas said. "I am ready to be there from the first day of practice, August 16, and start to prepare the upcoming season."
