KRASNYE KRYLIA inks Gerald Green
Eurocup debutante Krasnie Krylia announced on Tuesday the addition of forward Gerald Green (201, 25) for the next season. Green arrives from Lokomotiv Kuban of the Russian League where last season he was one of the leaders of the team averaging 17.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 23 games. He also played three games in the Eurochallenge in which he averaged 15.0 points, 5.7 boards and 2.0 assists. Green made the direct jump from high school to the NBA in 2005 as he was drafted by the Boston Celtics with pick number 18. After a few weeks there he went to the NBDL with the Fayetteville Patriots and later with the Florida Flame, to be back in the NBA later that season. During the 2006-07 season he averaged 10.4 points and also won the Slam Dunk Contest at the Las Vegas All-Star Weekend, but in July of 2007 he was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In February of 2008 he was traded to the Houston Rockets but he was cut after only one game. The following season he joined the Dallas Mavericks and at the end of the campaign, he crossed the pond to play in European basketball with Lokomotiv Kuban.
