EWE BASKETS lands Steven Smith
Steven SmithGerman team EWE Baskets Oldenburg announced the addition of power forward Steven Smith (207, 27) for one season. Smith arrives from Ironi Nahariya of Israel where last season he averaged 17.0 points and 7.5 rebounds. Smith played college ball in La Salle University, where he was chosen Atlantic 10 Player of the Year in 2005 and 2006. After that, he joined the Philadelphia 76ers for the 2006-07 season, but was waived in January of 2007.He started the 2007-08 season in the NBDL with the Anaheim Arsenal, but he finished the season in Italy playing with Solsonica Rieti of the second division. The following year he moved to Greece to play with Kolossos Rodou where he was having a good season, but an Achilles' tendon injury sidelined him for a good part of the campaign. In 2009-10 he moved to Israel and now he will make his Eurocup debut with Oldenburg.
