ANWIL WLOCLAWEK inks Sasa Mucic
Sasa MucicWTK Anwil Wloclawek improved its roster for its upcoming Eurocup return next season by inking versatile forward Sasa Mucic to a one-year deal, the club confirmed Tuesday. Mucic (202, 26) arrives from Zasavje Pro-Tek Rudar, where he averaged 16.1 points and 5.2 rebounds in 36 Slovenian League games last season. Mucic has also played for VOO Verviers-Pepinster in Belgium, Nova Gorica, Kraski Zidar Sezana, Krka Novo Mesto, Krsko and Luka Koper in Slovenia, Omonia Nicosia in Cyprus and Atomeromu in Hungary. He helped Koper to make it to the Slovenian Cup semifinals in 2008 and went all the way to the title game with Krka in 2002. Mucic also reached the Cypriot League semifinals with Omonia in 2007 and has been a member of the Slovenian under-17 and under-20 national teams. "First of all, I am a versatile player that can help the team in many ways and that always thinks team first," Mucic said. "I don't know much about Polish basketball but will certainly adapt to its style. I spoke to Stipe Modric before signing my contract and he praised the club and strongly recommended to join Anwil. I believe we will achieve great sucess this season."
