Skourtopoulos, 45, returns to the club after four years. He served as an assistant coach to Argyris Pedoulakis during the 2005-06 season. Skourtopoulos played basketball for Dafni Dafniou and AEK and started his coaching career in 1996 with Egaleo in the third division. Dafni Dafniou in the third division, and OFI in the second division were his next stops before he was named assistant coach for AEK Athens in 2000. Skourtopoulos spent the next five years there under coaching legend Dusan Ivkovic, Dragan Sakota and Fotis Katsikaris. He spent the 2005-06 season as assistant coach in Panellinios and then coached Egaleo for two years and Peristeri last season in the top Greek League.

"I an very happy to be back in Panellinios, which is a historic and glorious club," Skourtopoulos said. "We are in a difficult transition period, but I am optimistic that we will achieve our goals both in the Greek League and in the Eurocup."
