PAOK bolsters backcourt with Dedas, Apostolidis
PAOK Thessaloniki continued a busy week of roster building by signing guards Giorgos Dedas and Giorgos Apostolidis, the latter of whom returns to PAOK after seven years. Dedas (198, 30) is a sharpshooter who began his career at Aetos in his hometown Kilikis. He is familiar with basketball in Thessaloniki after suiting up for for MENT Thessaloniki for four seasons and for Iraklis Thessaloniki for another three. Dedas also spent time abroad in Spain with Breogan Lugo, CB Rosalia de Castro and Caceres 2016 Basket, where he averaged 4.4 points and 1.7 boards last season. As a member of the Greek national team, Dedas won the silver medal at the 2005 Mediterranean Games, which took place in Almeria, Spain.

Apostolidis (197, 26) is a point guard, who was born in Thessaloniki and grew up with PAOK. He left the club in 2003 to play for Iraklis Thessaloniki and has also played for Olympia Larissa, Panellinios, AE Larissa and Trikala, where he averaged 8 points, 2.6 boards, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 26 Greek League games last season. As a member of the Greek national teams, Apostolidis won the silver medal at the 2005 World U-21 Championships and bronze medals at the 2002 European U-18 Championships and the 2003 World U-18 Championships.
