KRASNYE KRYLIA signs Brezec
Eurocup newcomer Krasnye Krylia made a major move to bolster its frontcourt over the weekend by signing center Primoz Brezec, who arrives from Milwaukee of the NBA. Brezec (216, 30) returns to Europe after one year away. He averaged 9.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in the Euroleague during the 2008-09 season with Virtus Roma. Last season Brezec split time in the NBA between Milwaukee and Philadelphia. Overall he has played eight seasons in the NBA with Indiana, Charlotte, Detroit, Toronto, Philadelphia and Milwaukee. Brezec's best season overseas came in 2004-05, when he averaged 13 points and 7.4 rebounds in 72 games for Charlotte. His career averages in the NBA are 7.2 points and 3.9 rebounds in 342 regular season games. Brezec was the starting center for the Slovenian national team at the FIBA World Championships this summer in Turkey, where he was worth 8.1 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
