ANWIL brings back forward Modric
Stipe ModricA familiar face is back in Wloclawek, none other than forward Stipe Modric, who inked a one-year deal with Anwil on Monday. Modric (206, 31) arrives from Union Olimpija, where he averaged 4.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 15 Slovenian League games last season. Modric has been battling injuries for the last two years. He played for Anwil in the 2008-09 season, averaging 6.7 points and 5.4 rebounds in 19 Polish League games. Modric has also played for Cholet in France, Geoplin Slovan in Slovenia, EnBW Ludwigsburg in Germnany and Cedevita in Croatia. He has helped Olimpija to win two Slovenian League and five Slovenian Cup titles, as well as lifting the Adriatic League trophy in 2002. Modric has also been a member of the Slovenian national team. "My season with Anwil was a memorable one even when I got injured, but I am leaving all bad things behind to return to a club I know and appreciate," Modric said. "Once I get a chance to prove myself, I will do everything possible to make the most out of it."
