PANELLINIOS re-signs Kalaitzis, Kompodietas
Georgios Kalaitzis - Panellinios Opap - Finals 2010 Vitoria-GasteizPanellinios re-signed guards Giorgos Kalaitzis and Dimitris Kompodietas for the coming season, adding some depth to the team's backcourt. Kalaitzis (195, 34), a two-time Euroleague champion, averaged 2.1 points on 41.2% three-point shooting and 1.4 assists last season to help Panellinios reach the Eurocup Finals and the Greek League semifinals. He grew up with Niki Volou and then played for Panionios, Panathinaikos and Aris Thessaloniki in Greece and Olimpia Milano in Italy. Kalaitzis helped Panathinaikos win the 2000 and the 2002 Euroleague trophies, eight Greek championships and three Greek Cups. As a member of the Greek national teams, he won the gold medal at the 1995 World U-19 Championships and played at the 1997, 1999 and 2001 European Championships and at the 1998 World Championships.

Kompodietas (194, 25) began his career with Ano Liosia and has also played for Doukas, Alimos and Ilissiakos. He joined Panellinios in 2008, but played sparingly and did not appear in the Eurocup.
