CASERTA cuts Oyedeji, gets Williams
Pepsi Caserta made a change at center on Friday by releasing Olumide Oyedeji and replacing him with Eric Williams. Oyedeji joined Caserta in August and averaged 3 points and 3 rebounds in a pair of Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds losses to BC Khimki Moscow Region. Williams (206, 26) will join the team this week, but will not be formally signed until the process of completing his EU citizenship is finalized. Williams was born in Germany. He arrives from fellow Italian side Pesaro, where he averaged 14.2 points and 8.1 rebounds in 24 games last season. He played the 2008-09 campaign in the Euroleague with Air Avellino, netting 9.9 points and 5.1 boards. Williams has played his entire professional career in Italy, making his debut with Tisettanta Cantu in 2006. He helped Avellino win the 2008 Italian Cup.
