AZOVMASH tabs veteran Owens
Chris Owens - Panellinios Opap - Finals 2010 Vitoria-GasteizBC Azovmash Mariupol added a familiar face at forward with the signing of veteran Chris Owens. The well-traveled Owens (203, 31) returns to Ukraine after playing for BC Donetsk last season. He arrives from French club Gravelines-Dunkerque, for whom he averaged 8.3 points and 4.8 rebounds over 16 minutes in four games this season. Owens has played parts of three Eurocup seasons for three different clubs. Last season he joined Panellinios BC midway through the season and helped the Greek side reach the Eurocup Finals. He also reached the competition’s semifinals in 2008 with Galatasaray Café Crown. Owens has also played professionally for Alba Berlin in Germany, Pallacanestro Trapani in Italy, CB Granada in Spain and Panionios Athens in Greece.
