BENETTON BASKET lands Scalabrine
Benetton Basket Treviso made official the signing of forward Brian Scalabrine on Thursday, the day it announced that Eurocup Rising Star Trophy winner Donatas Motjeiunas was going on loan to Turkish Airlines Euroleague club Asseco Prokom. Scalabrine (2.06 meters, 33 years old) has spent his entire professional career to date in the NBA, where he helped Boston with the 2008 title. He has also played for New jersey, with whom he reached back-to-back NBA finals in 2002 and 2003, and Chicago during his 10-season career. Scalabrine appeared in a total of 492 regular season and 39 playoff games in the NBA. His best season from an individual point of view was in 2004-05, when he accounted for 6.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for New Jersey. Last season he tallied 1.1 points in 18 games as a reserve for Chicago. Scalabrine was considered to be a popular player with fans throughout his career. He was also a college teammate of Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv forward David Blu at the University of Southern California.
