HAPOEL JERUSALEM tabs big man Thomas
John Thomas (basket.co.il).jpgHapoel Migdal Jerusalem bolstered its frontcourt days before the Eurocup draw by announcing the arrival of big man John Thomas for the season. Thomas (2.06 meters, 36 years old) returns to Israel after spending a season with Hapoel Holon two years ago. He made his Eurocup debut with Aris BSA 2003 last season, during which he averaged 5.2 points and 3.6 rebounds in five games. Thomas is an old-school big man with presence in the paint due to his great strength. He played much of his professional career in the NBA, appearing in 217 games spanning five seasons with six clubs. He has since played in Syria and later made his European debut with Khimik Yuzny of Ukraine.

"We are very happy to have John with us," head coach Oded Kattash said. "He has great abilities and a lot of experience. He will add a dimension of physical presence. I am happy things worked out for the best and I have no doubt he will adjust to our team very quickly."
