TREFL SOPOT drops Acker, inks Harrington
Trefl Sopot changed things around in its backcourt with the signing of point guard Lorinza "Junior" Harrington, who takes the roster spot of Maurice Acker. Harrington (1.93 meters, 32 years old) is a known commodity with plenty of experience in the Polish League and two seasons in the Euroleague. He played for Anwil Wloclawek last season, where Harrington averaged 5.5 points and 1.7 assists over 21 games. He previously played for Sopot in the 2010-11 campaign. Harrington has spent time with Asseco Prokom and Union Olimpija Ljubljana in the Euroleague. He helped Prokom reach the Euroleague playoffs for the first time in 2010 and also won the Polish League title that season. Harrington has also played for Lokomotiv Rostov in Russia, Valencia in Spain, Azovmash Mariupol in Ukraine and Denver, New Orleans and Memphis in the NBA. Acker, who was released by the team on Tuesday, averaged 10.5 points in four Polish League games for Sopot.
