CHOLET BASKET appoints Sousa head coach
Jean-Manuel Sousa takes over as Cholet head coachCholet Basket named Jean-Manuel Sousa as the successor to Erman Kunter, who left the club for the same position at Besiktas earlier in the week. Sousa, 46, arrives from Le Havre, where he has served in various capacities for 21 years. He has been that team’s head coach since 2008 and also coached one season in the Eurocup in 2008-09. Sousa had a lengthy career as a point guard in the French League, including 11 seasons with Le Havre, after which he retired in 2001. He has since worked with junior teams and as an assistant coach before taking over that head coaching job.
