AZOVMASH inks three-point specialist Zabirchenko
Dmytro Zabirchenko - Budivelnik (photo aris)Azovmash Mariupol signed three-point specialist Dmytro Zabirchenko from fellow Ukrainian side Budivenlyk, the club announced Thursday. Zabirchenko (1.92 meters, 28 years old) returns to his boyhood club, where he last played in 2006. Zabirchenko helped Budivenlyk reach the Eurocup quarterfinals in 2011 when he averaged 3.9 points in 14 games. He took more than five times as many three-pointers as two-pointers that season (46 to 9). Last year he averaged 4.9 points in the Ukrainian League and 4.7 in the VTB United League with the vast majority of his attempts coming from downtown. Zabirchenko has also played for BC Kyiv during his career.
