TRIUMPH LYUBERTSY lands athletic forward Mitchell

The athletic small forward arrives from Hapoel Holon of the Israeli League, where he averaged 15.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game in his first season in Europe. Mitchell (2.01 meters, 26 years old) enjoyed a great college basketball career with Louisiana State University, which he helped reached the NCAA Final Four as a freshman in 2006. He missed all but three games of the 2007-08 season after suffering a stress fracture in his left shin bone. He finished his career ranked among the Tigers’ all-time leaders in scoring (third, 1,989 points), rebounds (sixth, 950), steals (eighth, 190) and assists 10th, 291). He spent his first professional season in the NBA D-League, where Mitchell tallied 16.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists for Erie.
