GESCRAP BILBAO BASKET inks Pilepic
Gescrap Bilbao Basket has added more fire power to its roster by inking scoring guard Fran Pilepic to a two-year deal on Thursday. Bilbao keeps an option to extend his contract until the end of the 2014-15 season. Pilepic (1.83 meters, 23 years old) arrives from Siroki WWin, where he averaged 14.8 points on 42% three-point shooting and 88.7% free throw accuracy in 25 Adriatic League games last season, helping his team to rank fifth overall. Pilepic started his career with KK Rijeka in his native Croatia. He played for Triglav Osiguranje II and Crikvenica before making his Croatian League debut with Kvarner Resort Novi Rijeka in the 2007-08 season. He also played for Svjetlost Slavonski Brod before joining Siroki in summer 2010. In his two seasons with Siroki, Pilepic led the team to win back-to-back Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup and Bosnia and Herzegovina League titles. He is also a member of the Croatian national team. Pilepic is now set to make his Eurocup debut in the 2012-13 season.
