TRIUMPH brings back Toporov
BC Triumph Lyubertsy kept getting ready for its Eurocup return next season by inking forward Sergey Toporov to a one-year deal. Toporov (1.97 meters, 31 years old) arrives from Enisey Krasnoyarsk, where he averaged 8.7 points and 3.8 rebounds in 17 Russian League games last season. He previously played from Triumph between 2007 and 2009, averaging 11.3 points in 8 ULEB Cup games in 2007-08 and becoming his team's captain. Toporov has also played for Lokomotiv Kuban, BC Khimki Moscow Region, Unics Kazan, Samara, Arsenal Tula and Sovetsk Kirov in Russia. He has also been a member of the Russian national team. Toporov helped Unics to reach the Russian Cup title game in 2005 and also made it to the 2011 EuroChallenge final four with Lokomotiv. Toporov is now set to play his third Eurocup season.
