VALENCIA tabs scoring ace Tucker
Valencia Basket added more firepower to its roster by signing veteran shooting guard Clay Tucker to a one-year deal, the club announced Friday. Tucker (1.96 meters, 32 years old) arrives from Virtus Roma, where he averaged 15.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 32 Italian League games last season. Tucker played the 2010-11 Turkish Airlines Euroleague with Real Madrid and compiled 8.7 points in 23 games in helping Los Blancos to make it to the Final Four for the first time since 1996. He has also played for Joventut and Cajasol in Spain, BC Kyiv in Ukraine, Teramo in Italy, Khimki in Russia, Le Mans in France, Ment Vassilakis in Greece and Sundsvall Dragons in Sweden in a long and prosperous European career. Tucker led the 2007-08 Italian League in scoring with 21 points per game in 21 games with Teramo before moving to Khimki, which he helped win the 2008 Russian Cup title. Valencia will be his third Eurocup team after Khimki and Joventut.
