ZASTAL inks Lapeta, Cesnauskis
Adam Lapeta - Asseco ProkomZastal Zielona Gora improved its roster for its Eurocup debut next season by inking center Adam Lapeta and guard Mantas Cesnauskis, the club announced Tuesday. Lapeta (2.17 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Asseco Prokom Gdynia, his only professional club until now. He averaged 4.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in 10 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. Lapeta has helped Prokom to win six Polish League titles in 2006, when he saw limited playing time, and from 2008 to 2012 as an essential part of the team's rotation. He also reached the Euroleague Quarterfinals with Prokom in 2010. Lapeta is also a regular member of the Polish national team. Cesnauskis (1.89 meters, 31 years old) arrives from Energa Czarni Slupsk, where he averaged 9.2 points and 2.1 assists in 39 Polish League games last season. He arrives to Zastal after six consecutive seasons in Slupsk. Cesnauskis has also played for Nevezis, Puntukas, Lietuvos Rytas and Sakalai in Lithuania, Apoel Nicosia in Cyprus and Dexia Mons in Belgium. He helped L. Rytas to win the Lithuanian League and the NEBL titles in 2002.
