LOKOMOTIV KUBAN lands Jimmy Baron
Lokomotive Kuban owner Andrey Vedischev confirmed on Thursday that guard Jimmy Baron has signed a one-year deal with the club. Baron (1.91 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Lagun Aro of the Spanish League where last season he averaged 11.9 points and 2.4 rebounds in 37 Spanish League games. Baron played college ball in Rhode Island from 2005 to 2009 and he crossed the pond that summer to make his pro debut in Turkey with Mersin Buyuksehir. He took part in NBA summer leagues but in the summer of 2010 he joined Lagun Aro in Spain, where he was the fifth best scorer of the Spanish League in his first year with 15.0 points per game. He stayed in an Sebastian one more season until now, when Baron will makde his debut in Russia and also in the Eurocup.
