ORLEANS inks Ayers to sub for injured Broyles
Orleans Loiret Basket signed Ryan Ayers to a two-month contract on Monday to take the place of the injured Dwayne Broyles, who will miss the start of the season with a knee injury. Ayers (2 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Frnech second division side Boulazac, for whom he averaged 11.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game last season. A product of the University of Notre Dame, Ayers finished his college basketball career among the Fighting Irish's most-prolific three-point shooters. He ranked third in career three-point accuracy (42.4%) and eighth with 170 career threes. He has since played for Fort Wayne in the NBA D-league, Namika Lahti in Finland and Boulazac.
