Pablo Aguilar joins Valencia Basket (Photo: ACB Photo)Valencia Basket bolstered its frontcourt for the upcoming seasons by inking power forward Pablo Aguilar to a three-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. Aguilar (2.03 meters, 24 years old) arrives from CAI Zaragoza, where he averaged 9.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 34 Spanish League games last season. He helped CAI to make it to the Spanish League semifinals, downing Valencia in a thrilling best-of-three quarterfinal playoffs series. Aguilar started his career with Real Madrid and saw very limited playing time with the first team, which won the ULEB Cup and the Spanish League in 2006-07. Aguilar went on to play with CB Granada before joining CAI in summer 2010. Aguilar has also been a member of the Spanish national team in several youth levels. He helped Spain to win respective bronze medals at the 2006 and 2007 U-18 European Championships and the 2009 U-20 European Championships.
