HAPOEL JERUSALEM lands Eliyahu on three-year deal

Lior Eliyahu - Maccabi Electra_35257Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem continued on its quest to become a top team in Israel and Europe by signing Euroleague veteran Lior Eliyahu to a three-year deal. Eliyahu (2.07 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Jerusalem’s archrival Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, where he played six of the past seven seasons. He averaged 7.3 points in 23 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season as well as 11.5 points and 4.7 rebounds in the Israeli League. During his time with Maccabi, Eliyahu played in two Euroleague title games (2008 and 2011). He also won four Israeli League and three Israeli Cup titles as well as the 2012 Adriatic League. Eliyahu spent the 2009-10 campaign with Caja Laboral (now Laboral Kutxa) Vitoria, with whom he won the Spanish League. Before joining Maccabi in 2006, Eliyahu played three seasons with Israeli club Hapoel Galil Elyon. He is a regular with the Israeli national team, too. Jerusalem will be his first Eurocup side.
