Rising Star Trophy winner Dubljevic out six weeks
Nov 01, 2013
Valencia Basket Club will be without one of its key contributors for the majority of the remaining Eurocup Regular Season, after big man Bojan Dubljevic injured his left shoulder. Exactly a week after turning 22 years of age, Eurocup Rising Star trophy winner Dubljevic learned he will be sidelined for six weeks due to a dislocated left shoulder injury that occurred last Wednesday during 67-64 defeat at Union Olimpija Ljubljana. It prevented him from finishing the game, and an MRI scan revealed a torn shoulder labrum that will cause him to miss significant time.
In two games prior to injury, Dubljevic averaged team third-best 13.5 points, as well as 3.5 rebounds. A native of Montenegro is in his fourth Eurocup season, and second with Valencia. Last season he was awarded Rising Star Trophy for his 2012-13 Eurocup campaign during which he was Valencia's second-best player in both scoring (13.3 ppg.) and performance index rating (13.7 per game), while ranking first in rebounds (4.8 rpg.). Dubljevic arrived to Valencia in the summer of 2012 from Buducnost VOLI Podgorica.
