Union Olimpija Ljubljana added depth and experience to its roster by signing power forward Hristo Nikolov to a one-year deal on Sunday. Nikolov (2.00 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Elan Bearnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez, where he averaged 8.1 points in 29 French League games last season. He has also played for CS U-Mobiltelco Cluj Napoca and Steaua Turabo Bucuresto of Romania, Szolnoki Olaj of Hungary, as well as for CSKA Sofia and Lukoil Academic Sofia of his native Bulgaria. He helped Szolnoki win the Hungarian double - league and cup titles - in 2012. Nikolov won consecutive Bulgarian League titles with Lukoil in 2009 and 2010, as well as lifting the Bulgarian Cup trophy with CSKA in 2005. He is also a regular member of the Bulgarian national team.
