Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir bolstered its froncourt by inking center Juan Palacios to a one-year deal on Thursday. Karsiyaka keeps an option to keep Palacios until the end of the 2015-16 season. Palacios (2.03 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius, where he averaged 10.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 13 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. When L. Rytas joined the 2013-14 Eurocup, Palacios went on to averaged 14.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 8 games. Palacios helped JST Nanterre win the French League championship in the 2012-13 season. He averaged 7.9 points and 4 rebounds in 14 regular season games and 6.4 points and 5.6 rebounds in the playoffs. A native of Colombia, Palacios has played on three continents. He played high school and college basketball in the United States, suited up for Guerreros de Bogota in Colombia and has played for CB Vic, UB La Palma and Gran Canaria 2014 in Spain.
