CAI Zaragoza adds big man Katic

CAI Zaragoza put another big body in its paint by inking veteran center Rasko Katic to a one-year deal on Tuesday. Katic (2.08 meters, 33 years old) arrives from Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade where he spent the past two years. Coming off the bench last season, the big man averaged 7.6 points and 2.7 rebounds in 10 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games, and posted 11.3 points with 3.2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 12 Eurocup games, helping Zvezda reach the semifinals. He also had 10 points and 4.5 rebounds in Adriatic League games. Previously, Katic played two seasons with Partizan NIS Belgrade and one with Hemofarm in his native Serbia, as well as four straight years in Germany with Tuebingen. He made his pro debut in 2002 with Zastava Kragujevac. This summer, Katic spent with the Seriban national team, and has won silver medal at the 2014 World Cup.
