Akasvayu Girona gets Branko Cvetkovic
Branko Cvetkovic Fresh on the heels of extending point guard Arriel McDonald's stay with the club, Akasvayu Girona has inked a young scorer to play alongside him in Branko Cvetkovic, who arrives from BC FMP. Cvetkovic (200, 23) was among the top per-minute scorers in the ULEB Cup last season, averaging 14 points per game in just 25 minutes on the floor, He made an incredible 50% of his two-point attempts and 44.6% of his threes – which was sixth in the competition. The player signed a two-year deal with a team option for the 2009-10 season. Among his career highlights include winning the Adriatic League with FMP in 2006 and taking last season's Serbian Cup. Cvetkovic is also a member of the Serbian national team and is expected to be a key player for his side in the upcoming European Championships in Spain.
