Rich Melzer joins the Artland Dragons
The Artland Dragons made official on Wednesday the addition of forward Rich Melzer (28, 203) for the upcoming season. He arrives to the Dragons to replace Chad Prewitt. Last season, Melzer played in three different teams. He started the season with Adecco Asvel, then moved to Bourg of France and he finally ended in Israel with Gilboa/Afula where he averaged 13.4 points and 3.6 rebounds. Melzer played college ball in Wisconsin River Falls from 2000 to 2004 and started the 2004-05 season with the Washington Wizards of the NBA but soon moved to the CBA to play with the Sioux Falls Skyforce. For the 2005-06 season he travelled to New Zealand to play with the New Zealand Breakers as he averaged 18.6 points and 7.4 rebounds before flying to France.
