DKV Joventut Badalona is back to looking for the final pieces for its frontcourt after seeing two players leave the team over the weekend. On Friday the club announced that it has rescinded its contract with forward Lonny Baxter after the latter was sentenced to 60 days in jail in the United States. Then on Sunday, Joventut revealed that it was releasing center Marty Andriuskevicius after a two-week trial with the club. Baxter, who had played for Italian League champion Montepaschi Siena last season, was sentenced earlier Friday for illegally shipping guns during the summer of 2006. He had been arrested the same summer for firing one of the guns near the White House in Washington, D.C., but the charges for illegally mailing them were not brought until June of 2007. Baxter, 29, had reported to Joventut's training camp in August before returning to the United States for his sentencing hearing. Meanwhile, Andriuskevicius was attempting to return to action for the first time since suffering a minor skull fracture and a concussion after being struck by a teammate during a fight in practice last season with the Dakota Wizards of the NBDL.
